JACOB LINSKY
Post Doctoral Researcher
II am a researcher dedicated to exploring the health of marine ecosystems through the lens of marine predator ‘sentinel’ species. Currently, I work with the Marine Mammal Research Program (MMRP) on modeling humpback whale abundance using satellite imagery. By integrating satellite-based whale counts with behavioral data, my goal is to develop cost-effective methodologies to monitor large-bodied marine mammal sentinel populations in remote regions. When I'm not in the lab or the field I am often in the ocean with a passion for freediving, scuba, surfing, and all things aquatic. Through my work with MMRP I hope to contribute to ocean conservation so future generations can enjoy these activities as well!
